As we look back on the festive months, it’s important to acknowledge the traditions that make this season feel so meaningful. Some are passed down through generations, others are one-day-only, and some spontaneous. Nevertheless, these moments create the memories and connection that define the holidays.

My friends and I do a Secret Santa every year, and it always sets off the holiday spirit. This year, we gave our recipient pajamas and a stuffed animal, paired with a personal speech on why that person embodies that animal. That night remains a very special memory, reminding me of the happiness of the season. In my family, we make cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, which is a very special, and delicious, tradition that we all love.

Senior Louise Jacobs travels to California to visit her cousins during the holiday season. While there, she enjoys skiing and spending time with her relatives. She agrees that the holidays bring out the most caring sides of ourselves.
